  • Conservative commentator Ann Coulter is scheduled to speak at the University of Illinois.
  • The event is being sponsored by Turning Point USA and the Leadership Institute.

Turning Point USA, in partnership with the Leadership Institute, will bring conservative author and commentator Ann Coulter to the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne on April 22.

"Ann became known in the 1990s as a critic of the Clinton Administration. She has been featured on many TV shows including Fox News, CNN, The Today Show, Good Morning America, and HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher," a press release from Turning Point reads. At the event, which is free and open to the public, Coulter will speak and later take questions.

"This is a great opportunity to hear from a conservative speaker and support Turning Point USA’s students at the University of Illinois," Turning Point said in its press release.  "We sincerely hope you can attend what is sure to be an interesting night with healthy dialogue! This event comes at a time when dialogue is being shut down and discouraged - there is no better time to come out and support freedom of speech!"

Coulter is no stranger to making appearances on college campuses. In November, Coulter visited the University of California-Berkeley, where at least five protesters were arrested after they allegedly blocked the entrance to the event and harassed attendees.
