VIDEO: Students won’t accept professors who oppose Black Lives Matter

Campus Reform asked students if professors who oppose Black Lives Matter should be allowed to teach.

“I wouldn’t feel comfortable with a professor teaching that isn’t for Black Lives Matter," one person said.

Most students said no, citing the comfort of students in the classroom.

As Black Lives Matter has grown in popularity at colleges and universities, and as multiple professors have been fired,  disciplined, or boycotted for opposing the Black Lives Matter agenda, Campus Reform asked students if professors who oppose the group should be allowed to teach.

Most students said no.

“I wouldn’t feel comfortable with a professor teaching that isn’t for Black Lives Matter,” one student said.

Other students even called for sanctioning or removing professors who oppose Black Lives Matter.

“With everything being so intense and with everything that’s going on right now, I think it is a safe decision to kind of remove [professors who oppose BLM] just because, like, you have to be considerate of all the students who are, you know, attending your institution,” one student argued.

“If sanctioning the professors is appropriate to university officials, I definitely support that,” another added.

Neret also asked how many students had to say they were uncomfortable before action against professors would be justified.

“Whether it’s one student, ten students, however many students there is, like I feel like any single time that somebody feels uncomfortable in the classroom it should be brought up.”
