Cabot Phillips to young Americans: Volunteer to be a poll worker on Election Day

"We cannot have a functioning democracy if everyone's voice is not heard," Phillips said.

Campus Reform's Cabot Phillips is urging young Americans to sign up to become poll workers this November.

Tuesday is National Poll Worker Recruitment Day, and Campus Reform Editor-in-Chief Cabot Phillips is taking the opportunity to encourage young Americans across the country to sign up to work the polls on Election Day.

Noting how older Americans have traditionally served in these roles, but are hesitant to do so in 2020 because of the risk posed by the coronavirus, Phillips is calling on college students and young citizens in all 50 states to step up and serve their country.

”We cannot have a functioning democracy if everyone’s voice is not heard,” Phillips said. “That’s why at the Leadership Institute and Campus Reform, we are encouraging everyone to sign up today and volunteer as a poll worker this November. If polling locations are closed, fewer people will be able to vote and it could make it all the more likely that the election will be conducted via mail-in ballot and many voters could be disenfranchised.”

To sign up, visit https://www.eac.gov/help-america-vote and help ensure that every American citizen can cast their ballot.

”With your help, we can ensure that polling locations around America are open for all people and everyone’s voice can be heard at the ballot box this November,” Phillips said.
