Ivy League prof: 'Open the border. Let them all in'

Amid chaos on the southern border, a Princeton professor said, “No human is illegal. Open the border. Let them all in.”

Princeton University African American Studies professor Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor made the remark Sunday in a tweet, which had garnered more than 2,000 likes at the time of publication.

One of the academics who shared Taylor’s remark was former Drexel University professor George Ciccariello-Maher, who claimed that the Las Vegas massacre “is what happens when” white individuals “don’t get what they want.” Ciccariello-Maher resigned in Dec. 2017 after tweeting, “All I Want for Christmas is White Genocide.”

Princeton’s Yamahtta Taylor previously made headlines for calling President Donald Trump a “racist, sexist megalomaniac” during a May 2017 commencement speech at Hampshire College.

“It’s not a benign observation, but has meant tragic consequences for many people in our country—from terror-inducing raids in the communities of undocumented immigrants to his disparaging of refugees in search of freedom and respite,” Taylor said, claiming that Trump has “empowered an attorney general who embraces and promulgates policies that have already been proven to have had a devastating impact on black families and communities.”

And, in August, the Princeton professor tweeted, “Trump 101: turning lemons into white supremacy,” while responding to a tweet in which Trump stated he had asked U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to investigate South Africa’s farm seizures and murders of the nation’s farmers.

Taylor did not respond to a request for comment in time for publication.
