University of Chicago senior Gerrin Alexander said Biden’s comment that “you ain’t black” if you don’t know to vote for him was the “most blatant, racist statement I’ve heard throughout this whole campaign.”

“If he were to be elected, imagine how many more Black people would be probably incarcerated,” said Alexander. “Him and Kamala have contributed to Black people’s incarceration.”

Students said it is “culture ingrained” that many communities of color still felt they had to vote Democrat. They also blamed the lack of education and the media.
