Harvard prof: US foreign policy to blame for downed flight MH17
Stephen Walt, professor of international affairs at Harvard Kennedy School, inexplicably tweeted Thursday that the Malaysia Airlines plane shot down over Ukraine demonstrates error in the United States’ and the European Union’s handling of the crisis in Ukraine.
Airliner tragedy in #Ukraine shows US & EU erred by not pushing to keep Ukr. as neutral buffer state, not potential EU/NATO member.

The Twittersphere was having none of Walt’s nonsense.
@stephenWalt This tweet shows Harvard Kennedy School erred by not pushing to keep morons off its faculty. — Colin B Lane (@LogicalLane) July 17, 2014
Walt, coauthor of the controversial anti-Israel bestseller The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy, doubled down after being challenged on his statements.
My point, folks, was it would have been better for US AND Ukr. to damp crisis down b4 more tragedies happened, not to excuse perpetrators.
