GMU students have no idea who Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger are

The Media Research Center’s Dan Joseph trolled the George Mason campus to find out what students truly know about music legends such as Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger.

One male student guessed that Paul McCartney was“an artist. Not country, but pop,” With a number of hints from Joseph, the student finally figured out that he was a part of the Beatles Band.

When Dan Joseph asked students about Mick Jagger, students replied with “Isn’t [he] the guy in Maroon 5’s ‘Moves like Jagger?’”

“Yes, I know him from Kesha. He is Kesha’s dad,” one female student said, apparently misunderstanding a line from Ke$ha’s 2009 hit single “Tik Tok” in which the singer declares that she kicks suitors to the curb “unless they look like Mick Jagger.”

When Joseph asked for a male student to name a Kanye West song, he replied, “[w]ell, what do you want to know? I got ‘Heartbreak,’ ‘Love Lockdown.’ I know the whole album.”
