Conservative students catch liberal vandals in the act

In anticipation of Charlie Kirk’s appearance Thursday at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, several students have repeatedly vandalized advertisements for the event.

Video footage obtained by Campus Reform confirms that multiple vandals tore down posters advertising the approaching event, some containing popular Turning Point USA catchphrases such as “Big Government Sucks” and “Capitalism Cures.”

At least five instances of vandalism occurred throughout the course of a single day, and only one perpetrator responded to inquiries from TPUSA member Andrew Minik when he attempted to dialogue with the protesters as they threw his posters in the trash.

“I don’t give a f*ck,” one vandal remarked as she walked away, proceeding to give Minik the middle finger.

Another vandal, who was in the middle of speaking to his mom, stopped to explain his actions, taking particular issue with an advertisement for TPUSA’s “Professor Watchlist” website.

“If you have an issue with that then why not hang up your own flyers rather than tear someone else's down?” Minik inquired, though the student deflected by stating that he didn’t know if he needed a permit to do so.

“I just don’t understand why you’d want to rip a poster down belonging to another organization that they funded,” Minik added, catching the vandal off guard and rendering him unable to respond beyond stammering, “OK...um.”

“The University of Illinois has shown that it is intolerant of other ideas. Turning Point has put flyers around campus, many of which ended up being covered in profane graffiti and/or ended up being violently torn down,” the TPUSA chapter said in a statement provided to Campus Reform.

“This needs to stop,” the group added. “Our group is peacefully calling for change and yet we are still being targeted by different groups on campus.”

Kirk is still scheduled to deliver a speech on campus Thursday evening, and Campus Reform will be on hand to provide live coverage.
