Maicoll was born and raised in Colombia before he immigrated to the United States and became a U.S. citizen. He is a former NCAA Division 1 swimmer and graduated with his bachelor's degree from the College of William and Mary. He currently attends Columbia University where he is earning his master's degree in public administration and is a National Guardsman. He was the youngest appointed official in Virginia where he served the Social Services Board in 2018. Maicoll is passionate about preserving freedom and protecting his country through the National Guard.
