‘Trained Marxists’ BLM founders say Trump admin is ‘white supremacist’

  • The University of Florida hosted the founders of Black Lives Matter for a virtual speaking event.
  • The co-founders accused the Trump administration of being a “white supremacist” government that commits “violence” and “torture.”
  • One of the founders, Patrisse Cullors, has claimed she and others in the movement were “trained Marxists,” while another, Opal Tometi, has been scrutinized for cozying up to socialist Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro.

The University of Florida hosted the three co-founders of the Black Lives Matter movement for a virtual speaker series on race and how universities and students can support the movement.

The event, hosted by the ACCENT Speakers Bureau, the Black Student Union, and the Pride Student Union, featured a discussion and question and answer session between a UF moderator and co-founders Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi.
