VIDEO: Students hate Trump’s SCOTUS pick.. before he’s even announced it
Students called the pick “scary” without even knowing Trump has not yet named a nominee.
Campus Reform asked students about President Donald Trump’s unnamed Supreme Court nominee to fill the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat.
Ahead of President Donald Trump’s upcoming announcement to name a nominee to fill the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court, Campus Reform asked students to react to Trump’s choice.
Despite still being days away from the announcement, students were quick to believe a nominee had already been chosen.
Without knowing who Trump will pick, students called the selection “scary.”
“It’s scary and definitely unsettling as a woman to hear that,” one student said.
“It’s scary, it’s really scary,” another added.
“The last thing we need right now is Trump basically ramming through someone who, given his record, is probably going to be an unqualified hack who will just do whatever he says,” a different student claimed.
Given the Black Lives Matter protests that have swept the country in recent weeks, Campus Reform then asked students if they felt Trump’s pick was racist and would uphold systemic racism.
“I think it would be unfair to say that like he’s the sole reason it’s going to continue or not continue, but I think just as a part of the system, he would probably play some role in that,” one student argued of Trump’s unnamed pick.
“In a sense, like, there are people already on the court that, you know some people would argue are sexist, are racist,” one student claimed.
When pressed as to which justice specifically was sexist or racist, she could not answer.
“But it is very scary for sure cause I’ve been seeing a lot, like on social media, people have been saying, like, ‘ladies, stock up on birth control,’” she also worried.
