The US Department of Education (USDE) has ruled that anti-discrimination laws will not force a Christian university to allow a female-to-male transgender in male dormitories.
The school argued the situation violated its mission to provide a “Christ-centered community.”
The US Department of Education (USDE) has ruled that anti-discrimination laws do not mean that a Christian university must allow a female-to-male transgender to live in male dormitories.
The USDE granted the school a “religious exemption” to federal anti-discrimination laws, according to an article published in Inside Higher Ed.

Jayce Marcus filed a Title IX complaint against Georgia Fox University in April, claiming that the school was discriminating against him by not letting him live in the men’s dormitories.
The complaint stated that even though Marcus was born a female, he still had the right to live in the men’s dormitories because he identified as a male.
The school argued that allowing Marcus to live in male dorms went against its mission to provide a “Christ-centered community.”
