JACOBSON: The White House REFUSES to admit why ‘Devout Catholic’ Biden isn’t going to Notre Dame’s Commencement

On this week’s episode of the Campus Countdown, Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson reacts to Biden’s decision to not attend Notre Dame’s commencement ceremony after facing backlash from students, alumni, and faculty members.

Conveniently, after more than 4,500 students, alumni and faculty members signed a letter stating that President Biden “rejects Church teachings on abortion, marriage, sex and gender and is hostile to religious liberty,” the White House “confirmed to Catholic News Agency that Biden would miss the event due to a scheduling conflict.”

 Jacobson then looked at Biden’s public schedule for May 23, which showed “that he and the First Lady spent Saturday evening and most of Sunday at Camp David, with no public events scheduled except for a 4 p.m. pool call.”

Jacobson said that “it’s certainly encouraging to see both leaders of the Catholic Church and now students at Notre Dame standing up and sending a tougher message to President Biden on his policies and actions that directly contradict the fundamental teachings of the Catholic Church.”

In the rest of the episode, Jacobson discusses Harvard Medical School’s recent decision to implement “anti-racism curriculum.”

“Harvard is supposed to be one of the top institutions in this country. Harvard’s Medical school’s top priority should be educating the next generation of intelligent doctors and physicians. However, it seems as if Harvard is potentially sacrificing excellence for diversity quotas by introducing courses to be politically correct and supposedly antiracist,” Jacobson said. 

Jacobson also calls out Cornell University’s decision to remove race from crime alerts on campus.  

The Faculty Senate at Cornell University voted to omit race from campus crime alerts on April 7, stating that “Black people are endangered when race is included in crime alerts.”

“The whole purpose of a crime alert is to warn people of a possible nearby danger that is occurring. And in order to do so, people have to know what the person causing the danger looks like,” Jacobson said. “Race is one of those identifying factors. Colleges and universities aren’t including race in their crime alerts to discriminate against people...they’re doing it to ALERT their students.”
