Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America (SBA) is the largest pro-life political organization in the country with a nationwide network of more than 1 million Americans. It combines politics with policy, investing heavily in voter education to ensure that pro-life Americans know where their lawmakers stand on protecting the unborn, and in issue advocacy, advancing pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns. 

About the position

SBA is looking for a Social Media Director who is excited about launching a social media strategy to fight the narrative of elective abortions and to support and save women and children. This role will be a unique opportunity to break the mold, fuse creativity with strategy and have hands-on tactical executions that will ultimately drive the perception of and engagement with SBA across social platforms. This role will be the trusted social media expert and across the business and is ideal for the creative leader who has a knack for finding innovative ways to use social media to highlight advocacy and real-life stories through authentic storytelling.  

This is a full-time position that reports directly to the VP of Communications. 

Essential Functions

• This role will direct and carry out all social media strategy and content for SBA alongside the Digital Comms Associate. 

• Responsible for increasing the reach, engagement and revenue of all social channels owned and managed by SBA, will build effective content strategies, set clear objectives, get results 

• Oversee and lead the social content calendar that incorporates overall social media strategy 

• Directly manage the Digital Comms Associate 

• Stay up to date with the latest social media standard methodologies, trends and technologies, including developments in designs, applications, platforms, strategy and innovation 

• Bring a unique, creative vision, strong editorial voice, and deep passion for social media and identifying new sources of content as well as formats for storytelling 

• Research current trends in social media and youth marketing and apply those principles and strategies 

• Evaluate, conduct after action on the success of campaigns/content and make changes in strategy accordingly 

• Develop creative concepts into long-form and short-form content 

• Engage social media followers, Identify and engage advocates and “influencers.”  

• Analyze the news and keep up with rapidly shifting online discussions, looking for opportunities to engage

Work Environment 

This position is located at SBA Pro-Life America’s office in Arlington, VA. This position could be hybrid or remote role and operate from your home office. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

Physical Demands  

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodations.

Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.

May be required to lift objects up to 20 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours  

40 hours per week. Weekend and overnight work is rarely expected.  

Travel 

0-15% travel. If remote, travel to headquarters in Arlington, VA is expected at least quarterly.

Required Education/Experience 

• 6 years’ experience of a successful history in the digital and social media landscape, including crafting content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and other platforms 

• Experience with Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, Canva or other tools 

• Experience with social media analytic tools such as Sprinklr, Sprout, Hootsuite, Google Analytics 

• Experience producing live streams for Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube 

• Experience of social media advertising, online advocacy across platforms

Bonus Qualifications

Preferred Education/Experience 

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in a related field 

• Political Science or equivalent experience 

• Video/Audio production experience 

• Spanish-language fluency is a big plus
