Meanwhile, police at the University of Texas are investigating a student who flew a drone over the Darrell K. Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium during the Longhorns’ football home opener this weekend. The student was detained and transported to the police station where he was questioned and then released. The drone was seized and police are investigating whether or not Saturday’s flight was illegal.
A spokesperson from PC told Campus Reform that the video was “simply an opportunity for us to capture a unique perspective of this memorable time for our students as they embark on the academic year.”
The college declined to comment on how much the drone cost and if students were told informed of the project before filming.
