Socialist group rushes to defense of arrested students, issues 'demands' to university
The Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at Texas State University is defending the four students who were arrested earlier this week.
One of the four students appeared during a press conference held by the YDSA in response to the arrests.
After four students were arrested Wednesday at Texas State University, the Young Democratic Socialists of America chapter at the school began to protest by holding a sit-in as well as a press conference during which one of the four people arrested spoke.
”Students occupying LBJ have decided not to leave at midnight, are now hunkering down for the night. We WILL NOT be silenced,” the Texas State chapter tweeted Thursday.

The protests are not letting up. As the time of the press conference (3:30) looks ever closer the protestors’ numbers continue to swell.#TXSTSITIN2 #txst #TXSTINJUSTICE pic.twitter.com/yfDtMZLxR1

According to KTBC-TV, 22-year-old Tyvonte Davis-Williams, 22-year-old Alejandra Navarrete, and 24-year-old Claudia Gasponi were the other three who were arrested.
