Students deny Trump credit for Baghdadi death...but praise Obama for handling of bin Laden raid
Some students dismissed the idea that President Trump should receive any credit at all.
Campus Reform Digital Reporter Eduardo Neret went to Georgetown University to ask students about the raid on ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
When asked to compare the raid with the mission to capture bin Laden, students praised and preferred Obama’s “grace” and “leadership” over Trump’s.
Following the death of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi over the weekend, Campus Reform Digital Reporter Eduardo Neret went to Georgetown University to ask students if President Donald Trump deserves any credit for ordering the raid.
Several students said Trump should not receive any credit at all. Others said credit should go to the U.S. military and national security officials who planned and executed the raid.

“I mean I guess it happened despite [Trump], he didn’t f**k it up too bad” one student said.
“I don’t really like the idea of someone taking credit for a death,” another student commented.
When asked to compare the Baghdadi raid to the mission to capture Osama bin Laden, some students argued that Obama’s “grace” and “leadership” should be noted over President Trump’s.

“Obama was a little more aware,” one Trump skeptic commented.
“I remember how Obama wouldn’t release the photos of bin Laden, and that speaks to his character,” another added.
Yet another student who credited Obama for bin Laden’s death but not Trump for Baghdadi’s death admitted, “I’m a hypocrite, sorry.”
