[VIDEO] Columbia prof argues for 'wealth tax' on O'Reilly Factor in heated exchange

A prominent professor from Columbia University found himself in a heated exchange last night with FOX News host Bill O’Reilly, after he expressed his support for the implementation of a “wealth tax” on a national scale.

Professor Marc Lamont Hill expressed his support for a “wealth tax” on FOX News’ O’Reilly Factor.

Professor Marc Lamont Hill appeared on the popular news outlet to discuss the idea of a “wealth tax,” which is a controversial idea that has recently surfaced as a means to reduce income inequality in the United States.

When asked if he backs the proposal, Hill professed that he is an enthusiastic supporter.

“I think it is exciting. I think it is innovative. And I think done properly, it can actually make this country even more democratic and fair,” he said.

Hill added that taxing one-percent of an individual’s worth is a “good number” and contended that “only the fat cats” would have to pay more, which he insisted “is awesome.”

O’Reilly followed up, seeking to clarify if Hill was really advocating for such a measure.

“Okay, so one percent every year of whatever your net worth may be… you have to send a check to the federal government for that?”

“Absolutely,” Hill replied.

The professor sparked controversy earlier this year when he published a list of the “15 most overrated white people” on Columbus Day.

Hill hosts the nationally syndicated television show Our World With Black Enterprise and is a regular guest on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News. He describes himself as a “social justice activist and organizer” on his website and one of the “leading hip-hop generation intellectuals.”?
