University conducted study to find out most popular pubic hair grooming trends
Pace University Professor Tyrel Starks says that body hair choices "matter to those whom we are so trying to attract."
According to Starks, men shave their pubic hair to "feel cleaner" and "muscular," women shave in order to "seek normalcy."
A New York university has released the results of its study which aimed to find the most popular grooming trends of pubic hair among different genders and orientations.
“PUBIC HAIR: To Trim or Not to Trim” is the first report in a larger study called “"How We Date, Have Sex, and Form Relationships Today” from Pace University Psychology Professor Tyrel Starks.

Starks said the study was important because an awareness of pubic hair trends is a factor in seeking relationships.
“Research suggests that what we do (or don’t do) with our body hair really does matter to those whom we are so trying to attract,” Starks wrote in an article on Huffington Post Gay Voices, a sponsor of the study.
Starks’s report also covered people’s thought processes when deciding to shave their genitals.
“Guys typically report that shaving their pubic hair makes them “feel cleaner,” or helps them look more defined — muscular,” Starks wrote.
“Women, on the other hand, tend to seek normalcy through hair removal. It’s less about accenting the goods and more about making them acceptable,” he continued.
The study found that most men prefer shaved or trim pubic hair, while women had varied preferences.
