Students were ecstatic about the idea of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as Speaker of the House. When asked what qualities would make Ocasio-Cortez an effective Speaker, students said that she is media savvy, a female minority, and that she is pushing the Democratic Party further left.

“As somebody who has built up such a great national brand and brought forth so many integral proposals like the Green New Deal, it’s just somebody like that would be a lightning bolt for change and a catalyst within the party,” said one young man about AOC.
