Radical hugger attacks free-market environmental group at Temple
A conservative environmental group trying to establish a chapter at Temple University was attacked by an anti-fracking fanatic Monday who stole and vandalized its sign.
“Fuck fracking,” he said as he crumbled up the sign and shoved it into a trashcan after stealing it from the table.
Adam Houser, who was tabeling on campus for Collegians for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), told Campus Reform that the organization was tabeling in favor of fracking, which he pointed out is “greener” than many other energy sources, recalling that throughout the day, he dressed up as Darth Vader and told students, “Don’t turn to the dark side; protect fracking.”
Houser explained that CFACT is a free-market environmentalist group that also opposes radical environmentalism, and that he was trying to spread the word around campus in order to start a student chapter at Temple.
People often approach him to debate the issues, he acknowledged, mentioning one professor who told him he should be ashamed of himself, but said this is the first time anyone has ever vandalized the group’s property, as well as “the only time anyone has ever gotten hostile.”
This is not the first time in recent memory that liberal students have violated property rights to make a political point, though.
In August, a Boston University student stole Trump signs from someone’s home and then bragged about it on Twitter, and just last month, a masked, club-wielding assailant viciously attacked several pro-life signs at Ohio University.
Houser said he is unsure of the man’s identity, and has not reported the incident to the university.
