VIDEO: College students share details of their own Brian Sims moments on campus
A Pennsylvania state representative recently sparked national outrage from pro-life groups and individuals across the country after the Democrat published a video of himself shouting down and following an elderly woman as she prayed outside a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic in Philadelphia.
State Rep. Brian Sims, a lawyer and LGBT activist who was re-elected in 2018, filmed himself as he berated a woman who appeared to be praying in front of the clinic - behavior for which he later apologized.
Despite Sims’ efforts to apologize, the pro-life community of Philadelphia doesn’t appear to be impressed.
Last week, Campus Reform attended a rally at the Philadelphia Planned Parenthood where pro-lifers from across the country gathered to unite against Sims’ hate and promote pro-life values. The rally was attended by hundreds of people of all ages, including college students, who spoke to Campus Reform about the call for Sims’ resignation from public office.
Students recounted instances on their own campuses where they were harassed and intimidated by people just like Sims.

Sims’ viral video shows him shouting at the woman,“have you fed any children today or have you stood outside of a Planned Parenthood shaming people for something they have a constitutional right to do?...who would have thought that an old white lady would be out in front of a Planned Parenthood telling people what they can do with their bodies. Shame. Shame on you.”
The lawmaker also called for the woman’s personal information to be released, a tactic known as doxxing: “Do you know who this woman is? If you can give me her address. We can protest in front of her home. Let’s go protest out front of her house and tell her what’s right for her body.”
He proceeded to follow the woman while shouting “Shame!” repeatedly over the course of the eight-minute video.

While his behavior garnered criticism from thousands online, Sims has done this before. On April 18, he published another video of him in front of the same Planned Parenthood. This time, he filmed similar insults and offered $100 to anyone who could identify a group of young girls, reportedly 13 and 15 years old, who were peacefully gathered in front of the building with their mother, as reported by local station CBS Philly.
Sims has since released an apology: “I will fiercely protect a woman’s right to make the best choices for her health & her body, unimpeded. I also know that two wrongs don’t make a right, especially on the front lines of a civil rights battle. I can do better, and I will do better, for the women of Pennsylvania.”
